What would it feel like to be seen?

In your entirety. And feel worshipped, as is. If you were made into a work of art, what would it look like? If you had a moment to talk to your body, and really hear her, what would she say? What would you need to hear? Today, right now, in this moment in your life.

I’m on my knees between a woman’s bare legs, surrounded by paints and candles. A jar of water. I take her hands and she leans forward. I utter a prayer. I begin to paint. For the next few hours we will travel together through the world of her pussy. Sometimes it will be a big deal. Sometimes it will not. What would your pussy wear? I’ll ask her. What would she ride in on?

What would she tell you?
What would she tell the world?

I call this part of the process The Witnessing.

What I offer is a channeling of a woman’s essence, via a moment of radical vulnerability, translated into textures and colors. I paint a woman’s most intimate story, and in this wild act of reverence and celebration, we reclaim her, for herself and for all people. The threads we tease out and restore from one, inevitably impacting the collective fabric of us all.

A Witnessing is the beginning of the journey.

It is both a live sketching of a your pussy and a ritual that allows access to your essence. It’s a couple’s counseling session between you and your body, facilitated through art, rife with humor, made possible through presence. Sometimes it is a Big Deal. Sometimes it’s not. The space of a witnessing is safe, fun, and sensuously beautiful. My intention as the artist is to allow a transmission of who you are, in that moment, and translate it through the metaphor of color and line. I seek to create a piece of art that can remind you of who you are when you forget, while creating space for a conversation most of us really need to have. The Witnessing experience is a space where you can be deeply vulnerable, completely safe, and profoundly seen.

Hi. I’m Ranier.

I’m an artist and bodyworker and mama. For over a decade, I have had the honor of working with women around the world, translating their most intimate geographies into art. I have had shows in NYC, Santa Fe, Amsterdam, and Big Sur, and lectured and taught in Europe and the US. Doing this work, getting to hold people’s most tender and wild inner worlds and make art out of them, has been the most profound honor and privilege. Doing it has changed my life and the lives of many I have painted. I’m left humbled and grateful every time.

“Ranier is the contemporary Georgia O’Keefe. She is doing now, what O’Keefe could not have ever done at her time, and doing it in a way that is transformational for all involved. It is some of the most moving work I’ve seen in years.”

FAQs

This freaks me out a little - should I wait until I’m more “ready”?

Let's be real here for a second, having your inner self witnessed, literally and metaphorically, can be scary as sh*t. No joke. Completely. It is also some powerful a** sh*t and incredibly worth doing. If you feel the pull of desire then I would encourage to you go for it, and even more so because of your fears around it.

Is there anyone this is particularly good for?

Yes. If you want to explore who you are, be witnessed, reclaim some part of yourself or your sexuality and are open to wherever the experience takes you then this is a perfect thing for you. I have had women use this as a tool to reclaim their pussies from abuse, and women use it to have a visual reminder who they are, and even women do it just to face insecurity over how their pussies look (it took me four paintings before I came around to the look of mine! haha!). It really can be what you make it or need it to be.

Is there anyone this is not right for?

This is not an experience for everyone. If you suspect you will have a hard time staying present in your body in the experience, are very attached to having a 'pretty' result, or just have big amounts of pressure/expectations for yourself or your painting in general, this is probably not for you right now. But done from a place of curiosity and self love? You can't fail.

What can I expect during my witnessing?

The fundamentals of a Witnessing are relatively simple. We set the scene, creating however we can, a safe and sacred feeling space. I light candles (if I have them), we turn off our phones, and settle in. I take your hands, say a prayer, you lay back, and I start to paint. As I paint I ask questions, sense, collect. Seeking and weaving a thread. When the painting is done or we are out of time, we close the space with a prayer. We stretch and usually debrief a moment. These are the basics that are fairly universal to the Witnessing experience. Remember, a Witnessing is more about the process than the end result.
